Is there any free db's or methods I could use in PHP to block certain states from accessing my site? I know of maxmind, is there any others?
p.s. I tried the demo on maxmind and it was wrong, said I was in a different state then I really was.

You mean states as in United States of America? Not to the best of my knowledge. Take, for instance, a major ISP that covers multiple states and gives a dynamic IP address each time a user connects. How would you know if that user was from one state or another? Likely impossible, unless somebody else has any ideas ...?
