Which framework do you recommend?

For our new project, we are looking for a solid PHP framework, which do members recommend and why?

We are looking to incorporate AJAX functionality, so please mention if the framework works well with AJAX.

I guess not. Too bad because they all look intriguing (by ff I assume mean FreeForm?). I notice that the Zend contest page for Prado has a nice comment from Derick Rethans (he's the guy behind xdebug).

Have you played around with any of them yet? The one I've had on my list to try is Ruby on Rails (which, as the name suggests, is in Ruby not PHP), but I just haven't gotten around to it... lots on the table lately.

BTW, Smarty is not really a framework like Prado, but just a templating system (ZNF can use Smarty).
