Themes URL.

Looking for the university URL where one could determine the "theme" of a site. Brett posted in SEF a while back but have misplaced it and cannot for the life of me find the thread there.

Joe you mean with Topic?

It works this way:

- you enter a url
- it does a 'links:http://yoururl" style links search on altavista and/or Google.
- it takes the site listings in the results and 'indexes' just the listings.
- it does not connect to the sites in the results, only to alta and/or google.
- it then determines what the most popular keywords are in those listings pointing at your site.

It is but one brief way that SE's can cheaply get a gauge of what a site is about.

So wait. It indexes the result listings for google and alta for the search topic i provide.... and well thats basically what I'm up to.

I'm sorry for the idiot course, but the "rank" is odd to me, its a decimal, or a decimal with a dash and a letter... I'm not sure what this means.

If you use the 'keyword' option, it will now return the se listings that have that keyword in the title.

This doesn't actually analyze themes. It analyzes your web page reputation based upon incoming links. To tell you the truth I'm not sure what the letter in the score means but they are in order of percieved "importance" on the incoming links.

The strange numbers are floating point notation, used for very small or very large numbers that don't fit in a calculator / numeric field in a computer program. In this case e.g.
2.30317e-06 tackle
2.17432e-06 fishing
1.67769e-06 discount
3.67023e-07 Free
1.15891e-07 search
I believe that they are very small numbers, and the trailing number is the number of zeros to shift the number by
i.e. 2.30317e-06 = 0.000000230317
Thus the fourth keyword (Free) has a larger number, but an extra zero in front of it, making it smaller.

I haven't a clue quite what the relevance is of these numbers, I presume that they are some sort of density measurement.
