These new "options" would be useful if our listings even appeared in the Top# 100. They used to, top rankings since 1997, but now our site has effectively been removed and ranks no-where.

AV needs to focus on search or go back trying to be a YAHOO!

IMHO (if anyone uses this program) it is just going to clutter the search results. People looking for information (ie.. not shopping) are not going to find cluttered search listings useful. The only useful part could be the text links.

The first listings that have the extras will atract attention and probably benefit, but should all the top listings look like this it will further erode the usefulness of AV search results.

A six-month listing such as the one pictured costs $150.00 for the first and $104 for each listing after that. That makes even Look$mart seem like a Blue Light Special.

jick -

agreed. who's going to pay to enhance the listings for all those 404s?

problem i have with AV is that its just not clear they are "worth the time" nor "worth the $". over the past several months, they have reeked (sp?) of such an overwhelming "sinking ship" odor that i'm afraid to go near them.

who wants to invest hundreds or thousands with them for "6 month" campaigns when it feels like they could be gone tomorrow? i doubt they'd give refunds.

that said, i'm cheering for them to get their sh*t together, and actually start pushing some quality results. i'd give them my money if they'd give me some confidence. lord knows we need some variety in the search world these days.
