The new look is cleaner and more presentable but the serps are still not as releveant as they should be...

Kinda looks like ODP, but a little busier.

They've cut the home page noise factor in half.

Continued de-portalizing, I guess...

UK users can now log on directly to altavista.com without being automatically redirected to uk.altavista.com

I canīt see the new look on AV.com but on AV.de: very clear and...yes no numbers to see! No sign of "### results found" and only 10 pages to click further i.e. 100 results.

hmmm...and the results are the same as before - just to ignore AV in Germany!

Negative - still got a redirect this evening.

> home page noise factor in half.

Sure - but the SERP's seem to require a heap more scrolling (cool if you paid Overture, uncool if the budget and SEO skills are lacking :( )

I'm with Robert on this one. I'm not seeing anything from I've been seeing for several months. (other than the preloaded search box thing they added after 9-11)

maybe they've just slipped up and omitted some UK IPs from their auto-redirection. I'm with telewest and not being redirected any more. Freeserve redirects as before. BT redirects sometimes but not all the time. I've got a couple of other numbers from NetKonnect which don't redirect when they did before.

The biggest change that I can find is that they took the banner of the top of the page.... other than that they've added a few links and removed a few

Actually, the old ones aren't the av site. You should go to:

Also noticed a table on the right of the SERPS that have what looks like featured listings - On the few search that I did, some of these were that same as the Overture paid listings, some were totally unrelated. Is this new? Any thoughts as to where these links come from?
