mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com - counted as 2 URLs ?

whilst checking listings in AV, i noticed that for one site, 74 pages are listed under www.mydomain.com and another 17 without the "www.". it looks like altavista is counting them as 2 separate domains. has anyone else noticed this ?

AV does this, as well as Google, and I am not sure how many others.

thanks agerhart. i've only noticed this with AV on my own sites.

ideally i'd like them all listed with the www. what's the best way to do this ? i can see 3 options:

1) use robots.txt to block scooter from the odd 17 pages for a couple of months until they drop out of the listings. then remove the block from robots.txt in the hope that scooter picks the pages up with the www.

2) do nothing and hope AV automatically adjusts its listings

3) re-submit the 17 pages to AV with the www in the hope AV will list them with the www instead of without it.

which option is most likely to succeed ? or is there another option i havent thought of ?
