Altavista UK submission problems

I submitted various sites to AV UK and I keep getting this error.

WARNING: When we tried to obtain your URL, we got an error. If this is a 404 ("Not Found") then the site will be removed from the index (this may also occur if your server is down briefly). If you have misspelt it then just resubmit it.

A few times I submitted the sites it would show that the submission was successful but the robot never came in both cases.

I submitted a few mainstream sites as well, i.e. mp3.com and many more, and got the same error message. Both .com and .co.uk versions.

Anyone else having problems?

I have had the same problem and wrote to AV who responded with:
"Unfortunately, at the current time, AltaVista.co.uk is experiencing some
technical difficulties in processing the submissions of new sites to our
search index. We are working diligently to restore the functionality of
the index engine. We ask for your patience during this time."

Problem seems to have been cleared up, but the old option for subs to AV.com db is gone.
