What's going on ? From #1 to nothing

Anyone know what is going on ?
I had my index page dropped from #1 to no where to be found.
It was a pretty competive keyword "fast hosting" but not as competive as web hosting
I just changed my title and some things now and resubmitted. Did they consider my door ways to be spam or something? It was my index page that was #1 though and not any door ways. I also read somewhere that this type of program is going to make sites drop in ranks as the sites that we link to and link to us are not related is this true??

Near as I can determine, it is the first round of deleting cloakers. Did your site get hit by a spider from dec.com called Mercator in the last three weeks?

Brett: ALL of our domains were hit fairly extensively by Mercator, but it doesn't seem that we lost any cloaked pages. Quite the contrary, actually: since AV's latest update we regained some 40 cloaked pages we had lost
during the preceding hiccups.

No it was not visited by a spider from dec.com or any spider called Mercator

I don't understand why if they were deleting cloaked pages why my page would be included I don't use cloaking. However was thinking about it.

I'm listed # 2 now for the keyword: fast hosting
When I type in fast hosting it says 5,294,983 pages found.
However web hosting it says About 617,038 pages found. before web hosting had a few million pages and fast hosting only had something like 400,000 pages.

I don't know why I'm not ranking good for web hostig as I bought a new domain with web hosting in it was told this helps. www.oc3-web-hosting.com

Anyone know what is going on with Altavista can't figure them out.

I was looking through my logs and my domain oc3-web-hosting.com was just visited by the spider Mercator what does this mean?

Well, the only reason I thought it was Mercator was because it was the only major spider I wasn't cloaking for - I should have been, but it just slipped through the cracks.
