goto listing move

Just noticed that the bided search terms from goto have now moved to the top under heading "featured site"

I'm looking at some two word SERPs where they are evidently "featuring" sites that bid on just one of the words -the lack of relevancy is glaringly apparent.

Did you do any direct comparisons with goto? I'd be pretty unhappy if I bid $2 for the term "moving" and they were charging me for terms like "moving picture"

No, I was just putzing around with my particular term, Seth. Search on river banks [altavista.com] (no quotes). I'm looking at "Jos. A. Bank, Offering Traditional Men's Clothing" as the featured listing. (My SERP is for a resort area with the word 'banks' in it -same thing happens there.)

Also, I just noticed that they are rotating the featured listing.

Yes, I'd be pretty upset if I were running a campaign for Jos. A. Bank right now. I don't imagine the river bank crowd would be high converters.

It looks like this is actually a double click listing, they must be substituting when the search phrase has no bids on goto.

Yep, but I'm only seeing it on the double click listings, goto listings seem to always stay the same.

I'm #2 bidder on "xxxx banks hotels" in GoTo. But Jos. A. Bank is still the featured listing on that SERP.

Hmmmm.......I wonder if it has something to do with the amount bid.... Maybe they serve whichever is the most profitable..
