Checking out the URL:mysite.com on A.V. Am getting two listings of the same page - only change recorded = the modification date.
Any significance?

Exactly the same happened to me a few weeks ago.
The page was ranking in the 40's in very competitive area, after the duplicate was "removed" it has all but disappeared.

I have that as well. I have about 5 listings when I look up site.com...the only difference is the date. One would think they woudl just keep the later ones.

Might be restating the obvious, but does one of the two listings have a "www" in the URL and the other doesn't?
I have the same situation you describe (same page, different dates), and that is indeed the difference.

With my domain it was also duped at Ink.
The only thing strange thing about the page was two full stops at the end of the title [another experiment fails!].
