Is it 5 URL's per day or 5 Per Submission Code?

Has anyone been able to find anything specifically relating to a maximum # of submissions per day through the new form?

The only thing I can find is on the main submit page with the new fonts.. that says you can enter 5 URL's with one submisison code which leads me to believe you can enter as many as you want, just that you'll need a new code for each set of 5 URL's.

How do others read this?

Hi

I found nothing specific on AV instructions. For the time beeing, I submit 5 URL from different domains in a session, clear all cookies, and then some more, for a max of five URL per domain a day. I will see in a week or so...

Good luck

I read it the same way you do... 5 per code, as many codes as you want to decipher in one day. But at the end of a 5 URL block, it gives you a link to info about bulk submissions... supposed to be at webmaster.altavista.com, but the link was dead last time I tried it.

I am wondering about this too, as I would like to sumbit several more a day (I have a lot of pages). At the Search Engine Strategies conference in Boston, Vaughn Rhodes from AltaVista said:
"Just decipher the code and submit as many url's as you want"

Now, unfortunately, I never got any clarification as to exactly what he meant (which may be a good thing since if I brought it up in front of the whole crowd he probably would have run back to change it to 5/day even if it is unlimited).

Maybe I should either email them or test it on a dummy domain and see if it gets banned.

Hi physics, I recently submitted 15 URL a day from the same dummy domain. For the time beeing, it all gets listed in 7 to 12 days. I submit manually from 3 different browsers then delete all cookies.

Is 5 per code.
I wanted to submit some pages that link to my site. There were 15 in total and i had to use three codes to finish the job.

Hi Macguru.

I think this is definitely worth a try because with this new "ransom note" submission style it changes the whole dynamics of what is going on at AltaVista. Apparently processing spam from the auto-submissions was taking up the lions share of their computer time. Now that this is no longer the case, will they be nicer to those of us who wish to submit many (useful) pages?

Also Hi jimmykav and welcome!

You're right, it is 5/code, but are we allowed to decipher a new code and then put in 5 more...
