AV and noframes

This issue has been around a long time [webmasterworld.com], but it appears that AV has increased the weight allocated to noframes optimization. I've been watching this develop over the last three or four days to be sure it wasn't another of their gyrations. AV's definitely indexing the noframes section, maybe it'll last more than a week. link [altavista.com]

You bet it does! Got dozens of #1 on AV who actually are framsets. Same thing with Google and a few others. When I read about framed sites beeing stumbling blocks for spiders it makes me laugh.

Mac, have you been getting good AV rankings using <noframes> for awhile, or is it a more recent development?

I feel I must provide a simple answer to this simple question. Most of thoses results are more than 4 months old. The same frameset pages where left untouched for a while and are still at pole position, (some hour of the the day).

The only change in ranking noticed recently on AV is varying results according to wich browser I use to query, and the hour of the day. When on top with MSIE, #8 with NS and # 456 with Opera and all those different one hour after it's no time for hair pulling.

Sampled the same results on 32 French language domains using accents.
