Everyone watching the submission page on ALTA-VISTA it shows you an illegible gif that has 6 or so letters and numbers in different fonts and you are to translate it into the text box below. Weird thing is that sometimes you go to that submission page and other times you are directed to the old one. Wrote the staff about it and they were extremely vague in their reponse I don't think this is a very effective way of stopping auto submissions, it is a way to stop submissions altogether

ah hello there.

It is ranking, yes so far under some three word phrases. I wouldn't say it's in a particularly competitive field, but it's in, and I'm finding it...top30 this has to be good news. (it's a .co.uk)

Sometimes the submission-code is really unreadable. What I do in this case is copying the URL of the image, loading it into a single browser-window and refreshing it. One of the following pics (of the same characters/numbers) is readable. So itīs not necessary to go to the ADDpage again and again.
(BTW itīs a nice thing to see how the image is changing)

It is nice to see someone trying something different. I'm not crazy about it since it puts the burdun on us instead of the site. There were many options they could have chosen that didn't require such effort on the part of the user and were more compatable with browsers.

Wow! I submitted a site for my daughter on 3/28 and believe it or not it's already in the database. I'm shocked! If these sites start ranking AV may just be staging a come-back. I'm crossing my fingers and toes on this one.
