Submit page is blank.
Anyone else seeing this, and if so is there an other url for submitting?

Same thing for me -- "document contains no data".

Maybe this week will bring some big news, eh?

Blank. Temporary workaround seems to be via UK submission - you're requested whether or not you'd like to submit to AV US - my last attempt was OK.

Try this
[altavista.com...]

{Netscape 4.07 win 98}

And to think I only submitted yesterday... Hope I didn't break it..

AV Australia [au.altavista.com] seems to be working but there is no mention of submitting to US as well. Don't know if that helps, but for what it's worth...

seems to work for altavista.fr
[fr.altavista.com...]

I wonder if submitting through the international AV's is doing any good. Of course I'll try it, but everything I see is screaming that the free submit option will be completely phased out.

At best it might be that they just have some problems with the database and/or are flooded with submissions and thats why the submit form is offline, but I doubt it.

tedster said it, we will hear some news soon. I think that they will at least go to pay-for-play only, but I'm toying with the idea that they would dump their own database and switch to using Looksmart and Inktomi/Google as backup. Unlikely, but if they want to cut costs..

Now that is nothing but trouble.
With any luck its just down, although its a blank page, not a file/page not found error which would be that it doesn't exist.
Without any luck they may be putting something new in place.
very bad, defintely very bad.

Thank you, Steph, I just submitted a page, we'll see if it works.

I also sent a query to AV here to ask about the blank page (still showing up).

Thanks ihelpyou,

That standard url seems to be working again. :)
Weird thing is that after I submitted it gave me an error when I clicked on the altavista logo to return to the main alta site even thought the address directed to altavista.com. Whatever . . .
