Capitalization

Sometimes I feel like the slowest one in the class. I just read the AV pages and learned something about how case sensitivity works there. Because I've heard comments from others that seem to indicate I'm not alone in misunderstanding, I'm quoting it here:

If you type a word all in lower case, AltaVista will search for both lower and upper case.

But if any letter is in upper case, AltaVista searches for the capitalized version of the letter only.

I never understood that before!

First of all you are the Farthest from the slowest one in the class!

I wonder how many people use the shift key in a search.
I Capitalize the first letter when I am searching for the names of Companies, People, Brands etc . .
I use all lower case when looking for things.

If my wife yells at me I search for Jack Daniels.
If my wife is sweet to me I search for flowers.

What I never got before was the fact that if you search in all lower case, Alta still returns capitalized matches. I always thought it had to be an exact match.

I pretty much stopped using Alta for informational searching about a year ago. Maybe I knew this back then, but it sure slipped my mind.
