Which to submit first

I have a site that has not been submitted to AV yet, but it is in Yahoo. Would I be better off to submit the Yahoo page and let AV find my listing or do I need to submit my site directly to AV first?

Submit the Yahoo listing first. Apparently, all engines are giving more ranking points to sites they find "on their own" instead of submitting them directly. Engines like Inktomi actually penalize sites submitted to them through the free ADD URL.
A Yahoo link is a great asset, so I would reccommend that you use that to its potential.

Does that mean resubmitting an already known site after I am listed in say Yahoo and ODP will improve my rating?

Do i really need to resubmit to improve my rating?

Hi Skirril,
It is not necessary for you to resubmit the site if it is already listed. Instead, submit the pages where your site is listed from each of the directories to the engines. This will give you Link Popularity points.

Also, Alta will no longer spider Yahoo pages. They will however find you from the ODP.
