Ive been trying to make sense of of whats happening at positiontech and how overtures site match works.
ive read a bit but need it putting in plain english.
1) is overture sitematch the same as the old inktomi pfi method? in other words if i sign up for it and submit my urls will they get found within 48 hours in the likes of hotbot, msn, espotting etc?
2) is the new overture sitematch pay per click only? or is it both pfc and pfi
3) in answer to points 1 and 2 what would be the cost?
if anyone can help me here i will be really most grateful as im completly stuck at the mo.
Thanks CK
Is it ppc? It is in Yahoo, but if you get into msn via site match it's my guess that you don't pay the ppc cost.
Your initial cost is $49 for the 1st URL, $29 2-10urls and $10/url after. Then you gotta submit a $50 deposit which will be used to pay everytime someone clicks on your link at a rate determined by the category you are in
Check it out:

Only people in the old PFI will not get charged for MSN etc provided they don't switch to the new SiteMatch program. If they do, they will get charged (as far as I understand it).
Not much of an incentive to change, IMO.
Does anyone have any ideas on how they would restructure their products for clients?
i mean im not sure i can justify spendsing this sort of money through sitematch anymore, especially where small clients are concerned. My idea was to start free submissions again. Has anybody got any views, thoughts or ideas on this?
Secondly how stringent are the editors when viewing our submitted pages in sitematch?
Thanks again

There's a Site Match Content Guideline available online [infospider.com].
I have read the guidelines, however those sort of guidelines have always been their for whatever search engine you submit too, however it was amazing what still got through, as most of my clients have doorway pages im wondering whther they will get through, just wondered if anybody had actual experiences of the review procedure?
I submitted a page 8 days ago, an _optimised_ page (with a click to enter - but with no hidden text or anything like that). I'll let you know if it's accepted.
I contacted PositionTech about their SiteMatch Exchange (site match but for compnaies with more than 1000 sites - like us). No reply.
Contacted PT about the 7 day for site match acceptance - no reply.
Ive now just submitted another client (same sort of technique) to SiteMatch throught OT directly. Lets see if they are any quicker.
I noticed though, the PT members (or at least the OT bit) is IDENTICAL to the OT members area. Why bother using PositionTech? Their site is down much of the time anyway :-)
any ideas wi9ll be welcome.
Cheers

Very useful info, i was wondering if the sheer number of pages submitted could be reviewed so quickly, did you optimise your page the same way you would for the old inktomi algo? and if so what are your results looking like - any noticebale change in the yahoo algo?
how long did it take to get accepted?
