Inktomi Error Codes

Error codes for Inktomi

Anybody see the error codes for Inktomi through Position tech? Maybe we can start defining them in this thread.

I saw these:
4000
8006
8004
404
400

Maybe we can get a list of their error codes and is it just for Inktomi?

That would be great.... their site is not helpful at all and all 14 of my submissions are showing error code 4000 and of course, we are not anywhere in the Inktomi system...

OK.. I spoke to someone there at Inktomi and he said the codes were out there on the internet, but he couldn't give them to me... He did tell me a few though...

4000 was a glitch on their end
8006 failure to retrieve robots.txt
8004 is a dns error
404 is a 404 page not found
400 must be a redirect or page moved maybe

I couldn't find the ellusive list, but if anyone else does, let's post it here on the boards.

OrlandoTodd, at least you got through to someone, I have been in voicemail oblivion with them...

so a 4000 error is a problem on their end... duh!

Tomorrow ends my 30 period with them, how convenient of them to be having this problem now...

URLs which are displaying a 4000 error are the result of change made to the Yahoo/Inktomi crawler. This problem was fixed yesterday and we expect everything will be back to normal shortly.

Can we get an update please? URL's in several accounts are still showing status of "4000", and the pages in question have neither been crawled nor indexed in well over a week's time.

The least that Positiontech could do is send subscribers an email notice to let them know what is going on. This would conserve a lot of time and resources that are undoubtedly being consumed in answering a barrage of individual support inquiries.

yeah I also have a 4000 error however before the whole sitematch switch last week these same urls had errors going through the inktomi html verifier. I have since fixed the code but haven't had a refresh since 3/2. I guess we don't get a 48 refresh anymore?

Also for those of you using positiontech, do you know if we can still edit URLs (change to different destination) that are less than 30days old?

When I spoke to them, i needed to fix a typo in a url. They didn't even have the edit feature on their end. Something to do with people that kept changing their URL, abusing it somehow. He said, "It souldn't be too hard to fix".. but he had to figure it out and call me back. "It used to be easy for us and the user". To his credit and my surprise, they did call me back to say it was fixed.

So... looks like the edit feature is out for now.

the edit feature is definitely out. I got an email from position tech as well. However still have the 4000 errors on 2 of my urls. I've run them through all types of html verifiers and they've come out clean. Been refreshed by inktomi on the 5th and the 7th but still listed as 4000 errors. Anyone get an update?

I had 3 4000 codes for 3 pages and 2 were fixed but one isn't. Is there a way to reach anyway at positiontech?

Also, I am wondering this:

1) There are no longer stats to see the search words to each url.. They only show top searches to all of them. Will this stat be returning? It was helpful whereas this is too vague...

2)How long will the old inktomi listings be up? Will they last till the year subscription is up and then can you renew them or must you change systems?
