Google vs Ink

With the announcement that Y! will be switching to Ink results, it concerns me. It concerns me because to me it's going to be a problem.

This is because I am getting no hits from google for my homepage, but I am getting hits for my sub-pages.

With Ink, I don't even think it has spidered my site yet. All it is listing is the homepage. Anyone know how I can do an allinurl to see if it's even caught my sub-pages yet? The site has been up about 2 months and Google has caught and indexed all 60+ pages.

When Y! switches to Ink, I am concerned that I won't get as many hits to my sub-pages anymore. Hopefully, though, my homepage hits will increase as I'm ranking on Ink for my keywords...

Why not use INK's SEARCH SUBMIT @ [inktomi.com...]

Granted that will only submit the index page for spidering, but the rest are usually soon to follow. Also, maybe you should be safe and pay th $299 to hit the Y! directory. Can't hurt....

I did that...there's no way I'm paying $299 for yahoo, though.

Ink often takes 3 or 4 months to list pages, even after it's crawled them. Good inbound links will help, no doubt.

how I can do an allinurl

On MSN, do an advanced search, and search for a word that's on all of your pages, restricted to your domain name.

I have a number of sites in inktomi which i put there using paid inclusion a year ago using positiontech.

Now my question is - do i need to renew these subscriptions? i.e. will inktomi drop my sites (which have a lot of inbound links) if i drop positiontech?

From my experience with PFI you will lose those pages if you don`t repay.

jesus, Google took nearly two weeks.

I hope they speed that up when Y! switches.

Yep, if you stop paying, the pages will be dropped, but they may eventually be picked up again.

They've gotten picked up in a few months for sites/pages I didn't renew with.

Ink is slower and as far as I can tell there are only two ways to speed up - pay for some key pages, which if they're good and rank well should pay for themselves in no time, or get the site better inbound linking from pages already listed with Ink.

For a fairly new site, Ink has had the main page but we just paid for 4 interior pages - it's not worth waiting.

Never paid for inclusion and Ink has my index page #1 for main kws, but doesnt touch the interior pages and hasnt even indexed them. How do you get Ink to crawl past the index page like Gbot?

Just to clear things up:
If you have a page in the index already and you sign up for PFI and then cancel. Your page will still be in the index if you cancel. If your page is not in the index and we do not pick up your URL in the crawl during your subscription period and you cancel then your URL will not be in the index when you cancel.
