Clustering results on AltaVista

and AlltheWeb, for that matter

Did I miss discussion of this at some point? I'm seeing clustering of results on the right-side of the SERPS on AltaVista -- same place where Google shows AdWords.

On AlltheWeb, the clustering is shown down at the bottom below the SERPS. However, the clustered results are not the same on each search engine for the same search phrase.

Maybe this is very old news and I just need to pay more attention to these search engines. :)

Pleeker both of these are old. At ATW we used to have the related categories at the top of the result page and moved them to the bottom of the page about 10 months ago. Altavista uses Prisma which is their version of clustering. This was also moved to the right side of the page from the top several months ago.

Thanks Tim ... I do remember now seeing this before in the other locations. So it's just a new look in a new location for the clustered results. Got it.
