Why can't my site make it to the top 10

I have been struggling for the last year to achieve success with Inktomi. My website pulls about 5000 visitors a day from Google but only about 5 visitors from Inktomi.

I have changed my page countless times, removed suspect keywords thinking that some are poisoning my rankings, employed a professional SEO, paid for PFI, asked ineedhits if my site was being penalized, and still nothing.

Has anyone been in the same position and worked out what the problem is?
