#1 for a day

I submitted a doorway page(my first)on March 13, the page was added to the index today in the #1 slot. That was this morning, I checked again tonight and the page is gone, not listed for the same keywords at all. When I search url:, the page is listed under my domain.
Has this ever happened to anyone?

It's happening to people all the time, and AV even acknowledges it for a fact on their site.
It may depend on AV's overall sever load at any given time. So searching during prime traffic
hours will get you a (slightly or dramatically) different result from search conducted in a
low traffic phase.
Also, they have just done a fresh indexing run today, after which search results are usually
pretty unstable for appr. 12 to 24 hours.

Interesting, on the march 22 I searched for the page 3 times(morning, noon and night)and it was listed #1. This morning it is gone again, but the same two pages, #2 and #3, are #1 and #2 when ever my page is not listed #1. Is this some sort of AV time penalty?
When I submitted the page there was over 2,000,000 urls found by the keyword phrase, now AV claims there is just over 600,000. AV is cleaning house and at first I thought I had done something wrong.

They were back to the rotating database for awhile. This is really getting annoying. I'm about an inch away from removing all Alta info on the site and starting a campaign to do the same on the rest of the net.
