Best place to pay for inclusion.

Hello All,

We have decided to spend some money to test paid inclusion. We have a dynamic site in a niche with few competitors. What paid inclusion engine would you recommend that we test first?

We are not currently listed in ink, alltheweb, or any others.

I would submit to Ink first as it will get you into MSN at the moment and probably Yahoo in the near future.

You may want to read up on a few of the paid inclusion resellers in this forum first.

I have researched a bit regarding inktomi and was leaning in that direction. My only concern is that I have seen mention of ink's current problems with dynamic pages.

So, this has confused me as to whether now is a good time to submit 500+ dynamic pages to ink.

Any comments?

I personally have delayed any more paid inclusion. It does appear that a large number of my PFI pages have suffered rankings drops recently while pages with "natural" inclusion are unchanged. I have utilized Ink PFI for dynamic pages with great success in the past, but lately that has drastically changed and my free stuff is performing much better.

Just my $0.02, but I plan on resuming PFI in the future if the effects I am seeing change. Every day when I look at another web site's MSN rankings I can tell immediately which ones I have Paid Inclusion (rankings drop), and which ones are in for free (rankings stable).

Thanks for your response. At least I know you have had success with dynamic submissions to ink. Now maybe I just wait to submit until Ink's PFI settles down.

da_clicks - Welcome to WW! I also have seen a very large drop in PFI pages while free crawled pages are stable. It's still unclear what is causing this, but there seems to be direct correlation with pages being PFI and getting filtered out.
And yes, Ink is also having trouble indexing dynamic links. There is a thread about it here.
I think paid inclusion is a good idea, I would recommend that you definately wait a while until Ink settles down and figures out what is going on before you drop that much money into PFI.
Read about the PFI providers here and in other forums around the web before you settle on one.

I concur with both kanetrain and PaidToPlay, Inktomi is very unstable at present.

I have $1000's of dollars worth of pages that are no longer appearing in the index. Historical click through data is missing, and regular indexing can at times be erratic.

I have moved the last of my advertising budget away from Yahoo/Inktomi. It was once a very good paid product, however I believe that is no longer the case.

You are going to submit 500+ dynamic pages to ink? Just consider if you can afford to write that investment off.

Thanks for the input, it is definitely helping my decision. I believe I will wait to submit, may just test a few to learn ink's paid inclusion program. But, until I hear otherwise, I will hold off and maybe spend the money elsewhere.

My PFI pages do great the first few months then they seem to drop. Any one else have this problem?

Absolutely. There are TONS of people around the web who have this problem. PFI seems to put your site in danger of being dropped by INK. There are many many cases to back it up.
There are a few other threads in this same forum about it. Please add your thoughts to those pages as well and explain your experience.
