My company develops and hosts several thousands Web sites (all legit, independant, companies). When we sign up a new customer, we want to submit their URL to the major spiders that accept free submission (Google, AltaVista, etc) as well as the major directories (DMOZ, GoGuides, Zeal, etc.).
We are trying to figure out a way to do this automatically - either through an API directly to the engines, or by using a third-party that will submit for us.
Based on my research online, the only thing I've seen so far is software that requires you to enter all of the information about a company, choose the engines you want to submit to, and then submit.
We are looking for something that would enable us to take the existing information in our customer database and directly send this to the right search engines (hence the API idea). Again, this could be done either between my company and the search engines or between my company and a third party.
Does anyone know if anything like this exists?

Submitting to the engines is one thing, but submitting to the directories is a whole different story. In other words, I see no way of doing this.
For the directories ... they are human-edited and really need to be human-submitted. I edit at 2 of them and they have different styles for titles & descriptions.
