Here is my funny story with Inktomi

I PFI one of my page. 2 days later, I paid
my page showed up at position 262 for a very competitive keypharse. Then I followed MakeMeTop advice for Ink, 2 days later I was promoted to position 278. I thought may be I didn't follow MakeMeTop carefully so I tried harder to SEO my page, I was then promoted in # 321. I did some change again and ladies and gentlemen, I disappeared from the Serp , it was yesterday. Today, I'm at position #9 and in position #2 for lesser competitive keypharses.

What I can do to improve the ranking on competitive keypharse?

One of the key issues here is to analyse the pages that are doing well.

Look closely at your competitor's sites and see if you can spot a trend. Do not copy your competitors, but learn from them.

Make sure you have incoming links, a good site structure, good on-the-page content and good titles and meta tags. Make changes one at a time to see what is working and what is not.

I have also had problems with Ink, but have noticed that the more time that goes by, the better my listings get. I have only been listed by Ink for 4 months, but I have noticed that my listings have slowly been getting better, and I have not changed anything. I wonder if the amount of time that you have been listed with Ink is a factor?

Also keep in mind that if you are competing against pages in a feed program, the text that you see on the page may vary greatly from what the engine is looking at and using to calculate rankings.
