Paid inclusion vs. xml feeds

Do they cancel each other out?

We have submitted about 30 of our most popular pages in Inkotmi paid inclusion about 11 months ago. They are coming up for renewal soon and we are also about to submit our site through an inktomi xml feed through marketleap.

Heres my question: Do we need to renew the paid inclusions if we are doing the xml feed? Also how do the SE's compare a paid inclusion page (lets say our homepage) vs the same page through an xml feed?

There is a large difference between PFI and XML feeds. It is much easier to rank well with an XML feed. They are given more weight.

I looked at that option, going straight through Inktomi, however we have less than 1000 pages so we must go through one of their re-sellers. Anyone have an opinion on the best one?

did you talk to Inktomi? The 1000 page number is just a suggestion. If you have good content you can get in with less (they judge it on a case by case basis)..

You also forgot to mention that it's much easier to optimize with the IDIF feed :D
