As I'm sure you all know, AltaVista PFI gaurantees a 48hr refresh of your site. bearing this in mind, why aren't my new desciptions and content being displayed in the search results?
I have completely overhauled my site, with totally new content and meta's so surely this should now show in the search results!
This is also happening in the other main engines - how do you ensure that your site is refreshed? Would re-submitting via PFI work even though my site is already in the indexes?
I'm confused!
Cheers everyone, Lee.
Basically you can not do much to enforce refreshment as long as you don't pay, i.e. use a PFI programme.
Getting pages from a site, which is already indexed, into a PFI programme, is not absolutely riskfree. Several people have reported that upon joining a PFI program with some pages has lead to (temporary) drops of the free pages previously indexed.
In short: I would recommend to just wait for the natural refreshment cycles of the engines.
