Are the link pop rumors true?

I've been hearing a ton of rumors lately about this, so I felt that I should ask about it here on Webmaster World.

I've been hearing that IDIF (XML) factors the link popularity of the domain in the display URL greatly, but PFI doesn't factor link popularity at all.

Is this true?

I don't know about this....do you have hard data/evidence to support that?

I have no evidence at all. As I said, I've only heard rumors about this.

I have, however, done tests to see if link popularity affects rankings on IDIF. And yes, link popularity factors greatly on IDIF.
