slurp is all over my site, but only three pages show in their index?

slurp has been hitting 1000s of pages for well over a month. i went to position tech's inktomi search and just typed in my domain.com i was surprised when only 3 results were listed.
is there a better way to see how many pages are in the ink index? also, why would i be getting such heavy slurp action w/out getting into the index eventually?
