I do quite well in nearly all search engines - #1 in Google for about 2000 fairly specific phrases and at least top 3 in all the others EXCEPT Inktomi. When I search for my pages in Ink I have to do an exact string search for the page title and then look at the last page ad there I am - either last or second from last. My index page is 97 of 100 on a search for my website name.

I think I've figured out that the Inktomi parser thinks my site is just autogenerated keywords. It's true it is database generated and a list ot item names and properties e.g. widget name - 3 bodgits, 5 whatsits. Has anyone got any experience with what Ink regards as rubbish and is there anything I can do to make it think my pages are legit?

Iguana,
Yes, Ink's "parser" is a natural language filter. It is regarded by many as the most sophisticated in the industry. It doesn't surprise me in the least that you are affected by that filter with a DB generated home page. I don't have specific advice for your specific page. Just remember that Ink must think your text is natural language - do what you gotta do.
