I get to put up with being RIPPED OFF for money just recently paid for my very NON-ADULT jewelry item pages. Otherwise, I can screw up my entire navigation and confuse the hell out of the customers who see categories drop in and out depending on where they are looking.
Something tells me Positiontech is going to try to keep my money no matter what, but I'm complaining and possibly stopping payment for the page I paid for just last week!
I've not seen this, although traffic has never been great I still get some referrals from MSN all from free ink pages
Try this. Make a really obscure title, and index it. Wait a few days, then do an exact search for that title. If your page comes up, then that means you've probably got an editorial action against you. If you don't see your site anywhere, chances are you probably got kicked out of Inktomi all together.

I suppose they'll come up with something in the nature of a page which has a link to another page which contains a link to content which may or may not be considered adult by someone is considered an adult page. :-P
I never would have paid to be in this index had I known that it buries links which it arbitrarily decides it doesn't like. I think potential customers should think twice about paying for indexing with them, at least until very clear specifics are listed about what may suddenly be buried next.
I complained to Positiontech. They implied that the reason my 3 jewelry pages are being censored as adult pages is because one of the pages linked to another page which contains a picture which may or may not be considered somewhat adult in nature.
How in the heck did Ink find your pages out of the millions of pages they have indexed? There must have been some keywords or description that set off an alert? I have no idea what kind of jewelery you were showing but I'm guessing it goes on parts of the body that are normally coverd by clothes. Perhaps you had some keywords in the link that set off an inspection?
I know a lot of people could care less about adult sites. But there are a lot of keyword and keyword phrases which could used in mainstream or adult sites. I think it's only fair that Ink explains what they are doing.
Or sometimes, editorial will just check random domains for issues such as keyword stuffing, etc. After all, that IS what they get paid for. :P

The product pages they have censored are marketed for teens. Perhaps they stretch the idea of adult content to contain any products not meant for use by small children.
I think what they're trying to stay away from is that whole 1999 adult site epidemic where adult sites were optimizing for non-relevant keywords.
Quite honestly, I'm glad Inktomi filters adult content for that very reason.

There has been some pushback fron the credit cards companies towards adult sites lately. Also certain AVS companies have taken steps to remove sites from their system that mention the words teen, young etc...
My guess is that Ink was being a little proactive and penalized sites that may have the word teen and just about any part of the anatomy mentioned on the same page.
