What is altavista up to?

altavista has been doing a lot of free crawling but results are not showing up in the av search results..
a lot of the crawling is with malformed urls...
i don't want to waste bandwidth on av if its not going to send visitors my way in return...
is there an altaguy out there?
is av trying to come back to life?
there needs to be some communication...
i am blocking av because its just wasting bandwidth and not showing my results in the index...

Didn't there used to be a goto guy?

Maybe now that Overture (Goto) have bought AV he might have an idea?

The story of my life. AV and INK love to visit my sites, but hate to index them. Why come if you aren't going to index me. And this isn't a one time visit either.

AV has problems - they stopped being a real search engine years ago.

If they had an AltaVistaGuy - they wouldn't have been bought by overture instead of the other way around.

I still wouldn't block them. But that is just me. Sometimes it takes a while to get into AV.
