Recently Ink was returning good results, I mean better results than many months ago. It almost seemed as though their algo had some google influence.

Since the acquisition by Yahoo was finalized I have noticed that Ink has reverted to junk results. I was biased just by the fall of some ranking for my terms (3 to 7 to 9 to 18). But I noticed a great deal of spam, specifically doorway pages and overly optimized, keyword stuffed pages upon examination of higher ranking sites.

I wonder what's up. Anyone else notice this?

I agree. The more competetive the search the more the results are spam. To the point of rendering some searchs utterly useless. God bless google which does exactly what it says on the tin!

What I have also noticed are sites that have absolutely no sort of optimization done at all. So its no optimization and spam controlling. Go Figure!

The general rule remains. Spam rules. There aren't any search results, Google included, that aren't packed with spam pages.

Don't work exclusively on your good, content oriented site.
Always have a spam domain loaded with doorway pages. It'll bail you out in situatations like that described in this thread.
