I have a big, big headache at the moment and I can't seem to find a proven way around it - I have an idea so i'm really after some feedback as to whether it will work or not, and if not - how can it be done?
I have recently been asked to promote a website on a worldwide basis. My first step was to get the website translated into all the releavant languages. All done and each language has a different URL!
The second step is to submit each url to the relevant Paid Inclusion engines/directories (require fast turnaround time!). This is where I am having serious problems!
My idea is to simply submit each country specific URL to the .com versions of the following PI engines/directories, using the relevant language (i.e. submit the French URL using Fench):
Yahoo
Altavista
Inktomi
Teoma
Lycos
Would this work with regards to penetrating the majority of the country specific engines/directories?
Many thanks for your time, much appreciated.
Lycos: speaking of Lycos directories, we have different situations from country to country. Some do their own directories, some don't. Some are paid, some free.
Speaking of websearch, you have to submit to their PFI programm. I would recommend going through PT at this point. Lycos is fed by ATW (AlltheWeb), so basically you do PFI to ATW.
Altavista: you have to pay extra for each targeted country.
Very confusing! There should be a resource on the web for global marketing strategies - maybe i will write on once I know what I'm doing!

Bottom line: you just have to take the time to take a quick glance at each country.
