Getting BACK into AV...

Hi:

I run about 8 sites. One of my main ones I had all kinds of doorway and keyword junk in... but this was back in the late 1990's, when you actually DID that! Anyway, somewhere around 1999 or so, three sites that had that sort of "optimization" dissapeared from AV. I cared, but not too much, as AV was never a big source of hits anyway.

Well, since then, I have redesigned all those sites, and dropped the keyword-stuffing optimizations. Two of the three are back (and rate well) in AV. But my MAIN moneymaking site is still not there. And it is clean (and has been for a while). (And it pulls up number one for a lot of my terms in Overture)

OK, so should I care, especially in light of the Overture takeover of AV? If I should, how do I go about getting back in AV's good graces?

I had a site banned from AV back when it actually did matter.. I cleaned it up, and just kept emailing them (through their basic search contact form) until several months later they lifted the ban. This was years ago, so I have no clue if this would still work.

In light of the overture purchase, I don't think it would hurt to try. They'll probably be combining the AV & AllTheWeb databases, If they also combine the black lists, you could be in trouble.

It's worth the time to hand submit some pages for free, but up to $78.00/year/page, no way.

Deer Valley musta been sweet! One of those places it would be nice to take a vacation:)

AV is completely worthless. I just launched another new site and used paid inclusion into MSN (Inktomi) and Altavista.

So far I have been getting 1000's of uniques with MSN and have gotten only 2 uniques through AV. That's with very similar serps too!

Svae your money and submit more of your pages with Inktomi!~

I payed altavista for 1 listing but for multiple language indexes, and they spider every single link on that site. Better yet, they are respidering all urls on that site every 24-48hour, and they all rank well too. I thought everybody got that treatment.
