There is little point in pfi for all pages as i said its small amounts of traffic, volume was the key, now all pages have gone, I kept jpgs of all my results and just checking back on them all they have all been dropped, slowly but surely my traffic has dissapeared over the last 2 months. I am still getting pages indexed from other sites for free with this method so i dont beleive it doesnt work. Anyone got any suggestions?
thanks in advance
Are you sure it was for no reason. Could you have been bending the rules just a little? If not, then your misfortune adds to the theory that certain sites with PFI pages get the rest of the pages excluded.
Here's a test .... pay for one of those pages that disappeared. If it gets back in the index in a few days and ranks well enough to pull decent traffic (assumining it's optimized for Ink), then it's probably OK. The lazy Ink spider may have missed it on an update. If it gets back in the index and ranks so poorly it draws almost no traffic (again, assuming it's optimized) then it's probably been penalized. If it doesn't get back in the index at all, then something must be broken. Look in your raw log files for clues. If you registered through Position Tech, then look in their reports for clues.
Would appreciate your findings being posted here, since the same thing happened to me last autumn. All previously indexed unpaid pages on a PFI-monetized site suddenly disappeared and never got back in, but I didn't figure it was worth spending money to find out why.
It would really be nice if Inktomi stopped by and told us what causes unpaid pages to disappear from their index while paid ones remain?
