Does Inktomi favor Google PR0 sites?

Top sites in Inktomi are mostly Google PR0s ...

I am seeing the top results in Inktomi for some travel keywords ... And I keep on hitting Google Page Rank Zero sites. I do not know when Inktomi has gone this bad where all good sites are buried down and spammy/problematic/duplicate sites with Google PR0 come to the top?

I just wish MSN replaces Ink with Google or Fast!

It wouldn't suprise me if these sites gave up on google(when they got PR0'ed) and just moved to Ink.

I've actually found INK to have really improved on it's searches.

Perhaps it's like the same thing with Google ... if we don't rank well ... then surely there must be something wrong. :)

It may be with Inktomi being used a lot less than Google, people are more inclined to report spammers to Google than Ink. Thus, you'll find more spammers on Ink for this reason.

Oh!, well I hope Inktomi does some thing about spamming;). I cannot trust any PR0 sites to pull out my credit card!

What is the best way to go about reporting spam to Inktomi? There's one particular search term I found a few days ago which was full of one of these cloned-search-engine sites at the top of the results - can't remember what the search term was now but I wasn't sure of the best way to report it so i just gritted my teeth and ignored it at the time.

So just because google gives it a pr0 its all of a sudden an illegitimate site or as you say ,spam. I say unless google has used the site or completed a transaction through the site then it has no business given it a rank at all.

That tool bar is doing more harm than good.

I think that INK doesn't unfairly penalize sites for linking the way Google does. Thus your PR0 sites are probably a Google attempt at spam filtering while INK loves all those links.

Try to remember that Google doesn't have the last word over the whole internet about how to build good sites and promote them....just the stuff in their own index.

It's a very good thing that we have at least Ink and a few others to come and give a favorable opinion on sites Google thumbs its nose at. I wish there were more engines out there.

The toolbar PR makes no claims as to how a site behaves commercially.

I mean microsoft.com has 9 or 10, but that doesn't make me trust them.

It's an indication of how well the webmaster has tuned the site and it's inbound/outbound links for Google. Nothing more, Nothing less.
