Does anyone know if the XML direct or trusted feeds give one higher rankings or better positions from the search engines that sponsor them? If so, can anyone prove this (ie, with an example of a search?) I'm thinking about the ones from AltaVista and Inktomi, and I'm sure there are others out there.

No... All Trusted Feed gets you is "guaranteed" indexing, and automatic refresh once a week.

It does NOTHING for rank, no matter what the hype is trying to say about AV.

Thanks. What about the Inktomi Site Connect? Does that give you a higher ranking/better positioning than the regular Inktomi Site Submit. The former is an xml feed for 500+ urls and is pay-per-click at about 25 cents per click. The latter, well, costs about $25 per url per year.

Same,
Inktomi Index Connect does "NOT" get any better ranking than the Site Submit program available through Position Tech.

The difference is Index Connect is PPC, and Site Submit is Pay by URL.
