AltaVista is no longer indexing the meta keyword tag?

There is a word out there that AV is no longer using the keyword tag. Anyone has more on this?

After the first internet spammers abused the keyword tag many years ago it hasn't been given much clout in the algo. I guess it's the next logical step to just ignore it completely.

I haven't had time to do any independent research, but Planet Ocean (who initially reported this) do infact know there stuff, and I'm sure this is probably true.
