Web-software company Inktomi announced Tuesday that it has signed a deal with Symantec to include the security company's antivirus technology in Inktomi's caching software.

Wow! I didn't think any of the SEs would actually go to bat on that issue... That's very nice to see. I wonder if anyone else will follow suit? If nothing else, it would encourage server admins to keep their virus protection and server patches up to date...

I don't think it applies to the SE database... Sounds like right now it's only for their caching software for corporate clients

Right seth. I find it comforting to know, that all those ISP's using Inks caching software can atleast shutdown the next virus in their neck of the woods though.
