I use RoadRunner at home, and for the longest time they allowed some cheezy multi-media search company providing results, that never had any useful information.
Then all of a sudden I start seeing "RR.com" referals coming through our servers. Chasing the referals down, I come to find out it's Inktomi?
RoadRunner is HUGE in a lot of areas, and the move from dial up to broadband is a bit more comprehensive than subscribing to AOL. The RoadRunner CD that comes with the installation package, includes a CD that "not only" tests your cable modem, but also "very discreetly" installs a new, customized version of IE, that has RR.com as the home page.... Of course.. :) I imagine, that most users, let the browser install, and there are probably a good percentage that have left RR.com as their home page.
My question is why "NO Announcement"????
The only thing I can figure is that RR is owned by Time Warner Cable, and Inktomi may go away, as quickly and quietly as they came?
