Inktomi paid Submission

Is it worth it for ASP sites?

Hello, new user here and I had a question about the inktomi search engine.

To begin with, my site is already listed in inktomi. However, the pages it has listed are several months old, from when the website was a static site. I have since re-vamped the website with Asp and databases and whatnot, so it now spawns off several thousand pages.

Ink wants 35 bucks for the first page and 25 bucks for each extra page. If I give it a page with an asp abilities such as ‘www.MyDomain.com/search.asp?search=AllMySuff’ will the Ink spider all pages this asp page produces, or would it stop at the first page?

Also, if I paid them for a page that is already in their directory (IE, im actually just paying for a page refresh) would this help my page rise up in ranks?

I’m just curious to see if anyone thinks this is worthwhile. I am mainly interested in the Ink listings to create a better listing on MSN. (I would not touch the looksmart paid listing service with a stick)

Any comments?

Hi Weblamer

welcome to WmW

Paid ink pages will not follow links, what you pay for, you get in, also by paying for a page this will not help your rankings it will only get crawled more often

As far as the value of paid ink pages, it's only worthwhile for the MSN listing and this could be hanging in the wind (I hope)

Hmm, for me at anyrate, having my site crawled more often would be a big plus. The link they have in there now is old, and who knows when it is going to get around to spidering my site again.
