Howdy, I just noticed Scooter running around my site. If AV is a "pay for spidering engine" why is it on my site? (My site is non-commercial - I certainly didn't pay AV anything!)

You usually don't have to pay for scooter to abuse your server. He does that for free. :)
AV lets lots of sites in for free.

Who knows. AV is not real impressive with updates. One of my sites took 4 months to get in after scooter showed up. I had another site that was in within 2 weeks of the initial crawl.
