I'm impressed at how fast Inktomi has caught some page updates and indexed them. These are interior pages on a very large CGI-driven site... unpaid... that were updated just at the beginning of the Google dance. I'm seeing them in Position Tech and MSN... not yet in Google.

And a PS to the above... I'm surprised how long some really stale listings on the same site have remained in the database. I'm actually not sure I can reconcile the two.

I re-did a site last month and put the date at the bottom of the pages - May 16th is what's there. It is not a paid site, it's in there free. I just checked and MSN is turning up the new page; no telling when it happened, I just looked. It's very easy to tell, because the page structure is totally different now and there are no meta tags, so the description is coming from the page itself.

I have never seen it happen this quickly. Yep, they beat Google this time around!
