I've noticed a huge increase in the time I updated my meta description to the time it updated at directories and indexes using Inktomi.
Less than 48 hours after I changed it, my new description is showing at AOL, SearchAOL, Sprinks, ICQ and Dogpile.
Of course, the timing with all this could have just been a major sync coincidence ;)

I have no idea if there's any connection at all, but I got an email from ineedhits.com mid-month that said Inktomi's server was being upgraded, and would be completed around the 16th of May.
