When I do an Inktomi search for the target keyword, the SERP shows the new subdomain content (page title, page summary, etc.), but the URL is to the old page url. This old page URL no longer exists. It is being 301 redirected to the new subdomain.
Up until 4/17/02, I was using a 302 redirects until I discovered that to 302s are for temporary moves. So I changed my .htaccess file to a 301 redirect (permanent move) on 4/17/02.
I don't know if this is a problem or not. The net result is a #5 ranking for the page.
The strange thing is that it will list the redirected url and the current url also in searches. It likes the redirected url better - (it ranks higher) - even though it has the exact same content. Only difference can be the url itself. The redirected url is in a higher subdirectory - I moved it down one.
