Thier DB integration and update speed is outragous. 30% staff cut probably will probably just mean more delays...

From the same article:

According to data from Jupiter Media Metrix, AltaVista has slipped from the 14th most visited Web property in May, to number 50 today.

IMHO Alta has made yet another blunder by alienating another cash source.

I did a side by side comparison with AltaVistas Express Inclusion Service and Inktomi's Inclusion plan.

To date I have yet to see any payback with Alta's placement plan and have not paid for a second Inclusion.

On the otherhand I am aggressively promoting Inktomi's to my clients as a value added expense.

Hello Alta . .

I think you are right, Altavista is dying... of note however is that a saw some submission finally appear in their results.

Maybe the giant could rise again.
