Anyone else notice this?

Wow guess Im a little depressed, I've never experienced this before. So many of our sites have dropped in ranking on AV by like 200+ spots. Why is this? The pages are not spammed or anything crazy like that. I ran the report, should I not run reports via AV - does it know then kill the ranking ?

does altavista notice i have [hostname...] resolved to www.domainname and then penalize em both?

My gosh, it looks like they have finally updated their free listings! I am stunned, I didn't think it would ever happen.

I've just been in there for the first time in months.

How I'd love them to regain some of their former glory... get rid of Goverture and their L$ affiliation, and focus on what they are actually very good at - search engine technology. If only they would let themselves.

Sorry EliteWeb, I didn't mean to discount your drop.

What I've observed from AV over the last 5-6 months is that they would add a site, but not use them for the query of key word results. So if you search for your domain name it was in there, but AV wouldn't isolated it from the main kw search results.

Now finally, I have newer (not really that new really) sites showing up for key word searches and with decent ranking. EliteWeb, are there new listings dominating your kw listings?

Scooter's been around lately, but the content isn't exactly current. Besides, I really don't get traffic from AV.

All these sites in AV have had high ranking - all free submissions from a long time ago. Never the sudden drops for ALL of them.

I'd have a look at the "related pages" feature for the domains, see if there has been any shifts there.

Well that's the first decent update I've seen from AV since last year! Brilliant stuff. They've just gobbled up our pages.

anybody also notice the clustering nodes, related to search term at the top of SERPS. It seems they are now doing something similar to FAST and TEOMA.

Wasn't their the last time i looked.
