For what it may be worth...

Ink has not been able to "sign significant deals" (explained to be with MSN, AOL) for this new quarter.

At 4:45PM EST, Ink will have a webcast of a conference call regarding 1st quarter performance as well as 2nd quarter projections.

The web cast will be available at:
[inktomi.com...]

For more background on this situation, please see the source that I have found as a background for this:
[biz.yahoo.com...]
and
[biz.yahoo.com...]

Thanks,
~ Eric

I got my dates messed up... No conference today, as it was yesterday. I was listening to one video link above, and did not realize that the today they were referencing... was in fact yesterdays.

*sigh* - time for an afternoon coffee kick I suppose.

I am going to post some thoughts on this in a new thread... Could easily prove to move OT.

I recommend listening to that wabcast at inktomi ( [inktomi.com...] ), it is really quite telling. They do not sound very confident.

Agreed. Sounded a bit awkward to say the very least.

Granted, they have the $$ to stick around a bit - but let's face it - they have more recognition as a SE partner than anything else, right?

Maybe thats just because of my position within the industry, but many other IT related colleagues have not heard of them. The few that have, say, "Oh yeah, they're a search engine, right?"

They discussed alot about the big deals they didn't get. Someone should have fielded a question regarding Ink's confidence to hold on to the deals they already have.
Watch the cash pile shrink up real quick if they start losing some of those.

I wonder what percentage of people are now not renewing paid pages after all this bad press is starting to flow it's certainly stopped me

I bet the PR team at Ink are desperately trying to find something positive to release, maybe a reduction to the old fee would help
