While visiting the AV Submission page [addurl.altavista.com] I met the above message. Waiting a while I figured out 5 minutes past and my submission code wasn't there. Does Altavista do this often?

EliteWeb, they've run out of Letters and Numbers and are busy cutting up some Klingon texts to use. Patience! ;) ;)

Seriously, this seems to happen periodically and should be recitified in a short time. Mind you, a short time could be hours, or could be days.

Anyone know of their backdoor submission code, the one you enter and it submits you right away into the index without waiting?

If you care for my advice, stop waisting your time with AV free submit, even when it works. Just like trying to get in Ink for free, if you get in, your pages will be buried like jurassic fossils.

And if you make it to the top, you wont get traffic anyways.
